Janet Anderson welcomes the public to her Open Studio.
Painting

Janet Anderson is an Abstract Landscape artist based in the Highlands of Scotland. Her work, inspired by daily walks through the region’s stunning landscapes, captures the interplay between nature and creativity. Using inks and mixed media, she allows the ink to flow freely, forming organic patterns and shapes that evolve into evocative works of art.

Janet’s artistic journey began later in life, encouraged by her daughters, who recognized her innate creative spirit. She pursued formal training in art, earning an HNC in Fine Art (Environmental) from Reid Kerr College in 2005 and an HND in Public Art from Anniesland College in Glasgow in 2006.

Originally from Yorkshire, Janet moved to Scotland in 1978. Before dedicating herself to art, she successfully ran her own tourism business for 25 years, earning two Thistle Awards and a runner-up position in Taste of Scotland.

Janet regularly exhibits her work in Glasgow, Ayrshire, and the Highlands, bringing her unique vision of Scotland’s natural beauty to a wider audience.
