Jane is a ceramicist working mainly in porcelain and stoneware from her Wildcat Pottery Byre Studio and Workshop just outside Grantown on Spey.

Pieces are wheel thrown and handbuilt using nature inspired texture and colours from the forests, moors and local coastlines.

She particularly likes the use of transparent glazes for textured and sea inspired pieces and experimenting with glaze combinations on functional earthy stoneware.

As a former Speech and Language Therapist, Jane has been exploring a different form of communication and finding a new voice through clay for the last 15 years – she is continuously adapting on her journey with glazing techniques and alternative firing methods.

A new byre renovation at her home just outside Grantown, has given her the potential to showcase pieces in a ‘real life’ setting where visitors can feel at home and experience Jane’s ceramics in a friendly relaxed environment.
